IS
IT RIGHT FOR ME?
A career as an Interim Manager/Consultant
can be one of the most exciting, challenging, varied and rewarding
there is. Many who are attracted to such a career see it has the
potential to offer a real challenge, excellent financial rewards,
greater control, less 'politics', greater variety, an opportunity
to focus on what they are really good at and a better work/life
balance.
However, it's not for everyone.
There are some very real potential downsides including uncertainty,
risk, the need to market and sell yourself (for which many do not
believe they have the skills or motivation), time away from home,
isolation and a loss of corporate perks.
All the above are absolutely true and so it's very much down to
you to decide if the upsides outweigh the downsides before embarking
on this new career direction. Like most major decisions there is
a great deal of emotion attached and, when you start to learn what
the life is really like, you'll know deep down if it's right for
you.
The
Introduction to Interim Workshop is designed to help you make the
right decision.
Format
and topics
The
Introduction to Interim Workshop is highly interactive. Our aim
on this workshop neither to persuade nor dissuade you from becoming
an interim manager. We do not see this as our role. Our aim is to
simply:
-
present the facts of the market
-
the life of an interim and the challenges you will face
-
ask you searching questions about what you want and don't want
from your working life
-
discuss our own experiences of interim management
-
answer your questions.
In
short we'll do everything we can to help you make the right decision
and after the workshop we'll always be available to answer your
questions and listen to your ideas
